Environmental Murals Partnership
Created as part of the Environmental Murals Partnership, this community mural project explored environmental justice through public art. Working alongside Professor Joe Trumpey, muralist Ellen Rutt, local organizations, and Boynton residents, our team developed a mural inspired by conversations about sustainability and the local environment.
The mural was shaped through conversations with Boynton residents, whose experiences informed the imagery and message. Located in Detroit's most polluted zip code, the project aimed to support environmental awareness while creating a public artwork that reflected the neighborhood's priorities.
Research & Community
Working collaboratively, our team translated our ideas into a large-scale mural, contributing to the design, painting, and installation of the final work.
